June 7, 2023 – Page of Swords

The Page of Swords stands beside a tree, near a sword stuck in the ground. Through a telescope, he looks into the distance. This card is part of the Somnia Tarot by Nicolas Bruno.

The tone of the card is a little ominous, appearing as if in black and white, with stormy skies. In this way, with the wind blowing, it resembles many other artists' interpretations of the Page of Swords. But, he is looking far into the future, the distance -- and with that he is taking the longer view.

The second card in this carousel, the Rider Waite, emphasizes the wind blowing the Page’s hair and the trees in the lower left.

Let us remember that Swords typically relate to action -- and Pages often indicate intention and effort. The Page of Swords is deciding how he can put effort into accomplishing things.  

He reminds us that although the present space or air surrounding us may be dim, cloudy, or stormy, the view we see in the distance can be quite different.

Taking the long view can make dealing with the clouds and the winds of change in the present easier.
