Tarot Card of the Day: April 7, 2021 — Ten of Pentacles

The Ten of Pentacles is a card that can say "family in the homestead." In the foreground, a patriarchal figure sits in his chair -- which is more like a throne -- in profile. His two dogs appear to be interacting with him. It looks like like the patriarch is secluded in a grotto, loggia or porch.

Looking through the opening below the arch, we see two other figures, a most-likely male figure whose back is to us, and a female figure facing us, along with a small child. In the distance we see more buildings and the landscape.

The home depicted may be a happy and harmonious place, or it may be full of conflict. The blue sky may indicate a generally happy environment, but this is certainly not guaranteed. No one in the card looks directly at us -- they seem very involved with each other, although the seated man seems quite removed from the dialogue between the man and woman.

To many people, this feels like a castle setting. Whether one's home is grand or humble, well-maintained or falling down, we can certainly consider it one's castle.
