Tarot Card of the Day: March 14, 2022 -- Temperance
The sky is grey, and an angel pours water from one cup into another. The angel has one foot on land and one foot in the water. A mountain stands in the distance, with bright sunlight shining upon it. A trail leads from the angel and the pond toward the mountain in the distance.
Have you ever had times in your life when you have been very impatient, trying hard to bring certain things about? You’ve been trying to achieve a goal, working very hard on something, trying to make progress, but finding yourself frustrated?
That's when I find a card like this helpful. The water is a resource, which the angel is wisely managing; even though she is standing over a pond full of water, she is pouring water from one cup to another, without wasting a drop. There is a message about stewardship and not wasting resources. There is also a message about temperately waiting, patiently waiting.
When you (or the angel) are pouring water from one cup into another, and back and forth again, between those two cups, it seems like nothing it happening, as if you are not making anything happen.
But the flowers continue to grow and bloom, the grass and other plants grow, and the sun shines.
Even when it appears that nothing is happening, things are happening. Use temperance as a time-out, a time of moderation between exertions of great effort. It is a bit like treading water.
