Tarot Card of the Day: November 1, 2021 — Two of Cups

Tarot Card of the Day:  November 1, 2021 — Two of Cups

The Two of Cups reminds us of the power of human relationships. In this case, two people appear to greet each other outdoors, each holding a cup. The sky is blue, and they are standing on a light brown or tan-colored slab  of stone. There is a green field, and a house sits nestled in the hills in the distance. The environment is very positive -- there are no clouds, storms, signs of wind -- it's quite a peaceful setting.
Overhead, above the two people, is a caduceus, also called the Staff of Hermes, with a lion's head.  In more modern times this represents medicine; traditionally the staff belongs to Hermes, the Greek god of messengers and travelers, as well as merchants. He traveled between the earthly world and the afterlife -- Hermes guided people to the afterlife. In this way, the symbol indicates a transition or change.
Thinking about the traditional meaning of the caduceus combined with the two people, the card reminds us of what is possible when people meet and collaborate. This is a card of new meetings, collaboration, partnerships -- often of an emotional nature. But the point here is what these two people can accomplish, or what you may be able to accomplish working through at least one other person, in your life, or in the world at large.
Often the card can mean that you may meet someone new and this relationship can be fruitful; it may also encourage you to take some action and "make something happen" with someone you may have met recently. In this way, it represents opportunity -- a chance to creatively bring something new into existence, or to change circumstances, often for the better.
As you think about the forces of the Two of Cups in your life, where is there an opportunity for you to bring something new to light, to accomplish something, or to start on a new path, toward something new? This may not mean that something dramatic will happen to you, but you may find yourself inspired, or you may think of an idea that never occurred to you before. So then, what might you do with that idea, especially if it will help you or others in the longer term?
